Tiffán's (Villány Region)

Tiffán’s Winery is a family business with a history that goes back centuries. Mr. Ede Tiffan is one of the most famous winemakers in the Villány Region, the 9th generation of his family making wine. He graduated as a horticulturist at the College of Horticulture and Viticulture in 1965.  He began started his own vineyard and winery in 1967. He was the first winemaker to receive the title “Winemaker of the year” in 1991 in Hungary, after the fall of the Regime. The 10th and 11th generations follow him on this magnificent path, Mr. Zsolt Tiffán, his son, and Zsolt Tiffán Jr. and Balázs Tiffán, his grandsons also participate in the family business. The 50 acres of grape plantations of the family are located on the most accomplished vineyards of the region where they limit the quantity of plants by pruning first and then by green harvesting. During harvest and preparation they select the harvested grapes twice in order to work only with the healthiest clusters. The construction of the winery started in 1993 and its present-day structure took shape step by step.

IMMORTAL RED BLEND 2013 (13%)

From his winery, we share the 2013 Immortal red blend. This medium-bodied red wine is a great blend of the main varieties of the region. It was aged in wood barrels for 2 years and the result of this aging method is a mature red wine with soft tannins that pairs well with red meats, veal, goulash, fish stew and hard cheeses made from cow's milk.
